LOOKING FOR TARIFF BUSTERS?
No one knows where tariff levels will settle, as trade wars rage, but it surely isn't too early for equity investors to consider what companies are best placed to absorb their impact.
In a note on European mid-cap stocks with big US revenue exposure and manufacturing bases overseas, Berenberg analysts have identified what they call "quality tariff-busters".
"Among our capital goods/consumer stocks, we highlight eight that offer high gross margins above 60% (indicative of pricing power), solid balance sheets and excellent brands, which could facilitate a successful tariff mitigation strategy," they say.
These tariff busters are Belimo BEAN.S, Fluidra FLUI.MC Interparfums IPAR.PA Interroll INRN.S RATIONAL RAAG.DE and Technogym TGYM.MI, tonies TNIE.DE and Yubico YUBICO.ST - Berneberg says their average 20% drop this year may offer an attractive buying opportunity.
