Consumer stocks declined premarket Thursday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) 0.6% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) down 2.4% recently.
Capri Holdings (CPRI) shares were 0.1% lower after the company said it has agreed to sell Versace to Prada for about $1.38 billion in cash.
Buckle (BKE) shares were almost 6% higher after the company reported that its net sales in March rose to $109.1 million from $104.3 million a year earlier.
Constellation Brands (STZ) shares declined more than 4% after the company said it agreed to sell several mainstream wine brands, along with related vineyards and facilities, to The Wine Group. The company also issued fiscal 2026 comparable earnings per share guidance below analysts' expectations.
