Ingersoll GM workers informed of plant shutdown: sources

Multiple sources have told CTV News there will be a shutdown of the GM CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ont.
Workers were told today about the planned shutdown Friday afternoon.
According to employees who have spoken to CTV News, the plant will be down the next three weeks, workers will go back the first two weeks of May, and then the plant will be idled until October.
According to the sources, during that time, they will purify the workforce, only keeping however many people to run 1 shift
It’s not yet clear if the shutdown is permanent or temporary.
