Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Executive David Zaslav's total compensation for 2024 was valued at $51.9 million, up from $49.7 million the previous year.

The company, home of the Warner Bros. movie studio and brands such as CNN, HBO, Max, Discovery Channel and Food Network, said in its proxy filing Friday that compensation changes have included a transition away from guaranteed bonuses to ensure outcomes are solely driven by company performance.

Warner Bros. Discovery said it had a successful year despite industrywide challenges. It cited the reduction of outstanding debt by about $4.4 billion, the addition of 19 million global subscribers and a strong box office for movies including "Dune: Part Two."

Zaslav's non-equity incentive plan compensation rose to $23.9 million from $22 million. Stock awards were roughly flat at $23.1 million. Base salary remained $3 million.

The company announced Friday that John Malone won't seek re-election to the board and will become chair emeritus.
