Lithium Argentina (LAR) said Friday it signed a letter of intent with Ganfeng Lithium to jointly develop the Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes basins in Argentina.

The company said the agreement would consolidate their lithium assets in the region - including the Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes, Pastos Grandes, and Sal de la Puna projects - into a unified regional development plan targeting up to 150,000 metric tons per year of lithium carbonate equivalent.

The phased plan will combine solar evaporation and direct lithium extraction and may include lithium chloride production to serve battery markets, it said.

LAR shares were 2.4% higher in recent premarket activity.
