On a per-share basis, the Irvine, California-based company said it had a loss of 31 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 14 cents per share.
The company posted revenue of $64.9 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $66.2 million.
Kura Sushi expects full-year revenue in the range of $275 million to $279 million.
