Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) repurchased for cancellation 578,287 ordinary shares, according to a recent filing with the New Zealand and Australian bourses.
The company acquired 187,778 ordinary shares on New Zealand's Stock Exchange at an average price of NZ$0.5814 each and 95,538 ordinary shares on the Australian Securities Exchange for an average price of AU$0.5396 apiece.
Additionally, 294,971 ordinary shares were acquired off-market from the finance minister at an average price of NZ$0.5819.
The company's shares fell 2% on the Australian bourse on market close.
