智通财经APP获悉，美国最大半导体设备制造商应用材料(AMAT.US)近日披露，其已持有BE Semiconductor Industries NV(BESIY.US)9%的股权，双方曾在人工智能(AI)计算应用项目上展开合作。
该公司在周一发布的一份声明中表示，其并无进一步增持股票的计划，也不会谋求在Besi的董事会席位。
此次投资源于2020年双方建立的合作关系，当时双方共同开发了一项名为“基于芯片的混合键合”技术。这项技术旨在助力芯片制造商打造性能更强大、能效更高的产品，被视为制造推动AI计算热潮所需芯片的一种有效途径。
应用材料企业副总裁Terry Lee表示：“我们将此次投资视为一项具有战略意义的长期举措，彰显了应用材料致力于共同开发业内最具实力的混合键合解决方案的决心。对于作为AI基石的先进逻辑芯片和存储芯片而言，这一技术正变得愈发重要。”
