U.S. stock markets stabilized, but communications services shares fell as the prospect of trade wars looms large.

Netflix shares rose after the company said it aims to achieve a $1 trillion market capitalization and double its revenue by 2030, ambitious goals that show its growing heft as the largest global streamer. Executives are optimistic about the company's growth prospects, despite lingering concerns on Wall Street about the economy and trade-policy uncertainty.
