Rocket Lab USA Selected by US, UK to Advance Hypersonic Capabilities

Rocket Lab USA (RKLB) said Monday it was chosen by the US Air Force and the UK Ministry of Defense to provide hypersonic test launch capability with its Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron launch vehicle and other engineering services.

The company was selected by the US Air Force to participate under its Enterprise-Wide Agile Acquisition Contract "for the rapid acquisition of innovative technologies, engineering services and technical solutions," according to a statement.

Rocket Lab was selected by the UK Ministry of Defense for its Hypersonic Technologies and Capability Development Framework to advance hypersonic capabilities.

In both programs, the company plans to bid for contracts and task orders utilizing its HASTE launch vehicle, along with engineering and launch services.

Shares of Rocket Lab rose 5.3% in after-hours trading.
