智通财经APP获悉，美国总统唐纳德·特朗普周日重申，他认为不应该由外国公司控制美国钢铁(X.US)，这使得日本新日铁以150亿美元收购美国钢铁的希望变得渺茫。
特朗普上周三表示，他不希望看到美国钢铁被日本收购，导致该公司股价下跌7%。随后，这两家公司表示，他们正在与特朗普政府密切合作，以“确保一笔重大投资”。
日本首相石破茂周一在东京的一次议会会议上表示，他与特朗普在2月份的会晤中讨论了这项协议。
石破茂表示：“收购和投资之间的区别必须根据美国法律进行仔细审查，但肯定存在一个点，即它(美国钢铁)仍然是一家美国公司，而日本的利益也可以实现。”
新日铁于2023年12月宣布收购美国钢铁的交易，但这笔交易从一开始就面临阻力。
美国前总统拜登和特朗普去年在竞争激烈的选举中都声称，美国钢铁应该继续由美国人所有，以争取该公司总部所在地宾夕法尼亚州这个摇摆州的选民支持。
2025年1月，拜登以国家安全为由阻止了这笔交易。但两家公司很快提起诉讼，声称他们被剥夺了公平的国家安全审查资格，因为拜登为了赢得连任而公开反对该交易，从而影响了审查进程。
周一美股盘前，美国钢铁跌0.27%。
