1327 ET - Aluminum-can manufacturers Crown Holdings and Ball Corporation have historically been resistant to recessions, a fact that could stand to benefit them in future quarters, Jefferies analysts say in a research note. Plus, energy drink sales rebounded sharply in 1Q, recent data from Nielsen shows, which bodes well for Crown and Ball's upcoming quarterly reports, the analysts write. They expect Crown to beat 1Q estimates. However, beer demand remains under pressure, meaning Ball could report more mixed results given its larger exposure to the struggling segment.
