Fitch Ratings has given an A- rating to Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group's (TYO:8306) callable senior unsecured notes, according to a Tuesday release.
The notes' rating is similar to the financial company's long-term issuer default rating, with actions on the latter prompting similar movements on the notes, Fitch said.
The rating agency considers the issuances as part of the company's total loss-absorbing capacity (TLAC) requirements.
Fitch also expects the company to further raise TLAC-qualified debt as it complies with the requirement with a comfortable buffer.
