Ecopetrol Signs Agreement to Develop 49% of Jemeiwaa Ka'I Wind Cluster in Colombia

Ecopetrol (EC) said Monday it has entered into an investment framework agreement to develop 49% of the Jemeiwaa Ka'I wind cluster project in La Guajira, Colombia, with AES Colombia & CIA SCA.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

Jemeiwaa Ka'I includes a series of wind projects situated in the upper and middle Guajira, within the municipality of Uribia, with an estimated capacity of 1,087 megawatts and a 35 kilometers transmission line.

Ecopetrol said, upon meeting the necessary conditions and legal requirements, it will release the relevant information through the appropriate channels in compliance with its legal obligations.

Shares of Ecopetrol were up more than 2% in recent Monday trading.
