Gorilla Technology (GRRR) said Wednesday it has filed a lawsuit against Culper Research and its founder, Christian Lamarco, for making "false and misleading statements" about the company in an April 4 report.

Gorilla said it seeks compensatory and punitive damages from Culper and Lamarco.

"The report made baseless and malicious accusations regarding Gorilla's business, products and strategic partners, in what appears to be a coordinated attempt to mislead the public and manipulate Gorilla's share price," the company said.

Culper did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of Gorilla were down more than 3% in recent premarket activity.
