Many Peaks Minerals (ASX:MPK) said it began a phase two diamond core drilling at the Ferké gold project in the Ivory Coast, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The first phase of drilling at the Ouarigue prospect highlighted the potential for a significant growth of mineralization. The mining firm is currently conducting an air core drill program at the project, with over 4,600 meters of drilling completed across 131 drill holes to date.
The second phase program consists of eight drill holes for a planned 2,000 meters in total depth, focused on extensions to gold mineralization.
It also plans to conduct over 6,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling, targeting a combination of reconnaissance drill tests and delineation drilling of shallow mineralization at the Ouarigue prospect.
Its shares fell 2% in recent trading on Tuesday.
