General Dynamics' (GD) Electric Boat unit may face a strike after unionized employees voted to authorize one, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing the United Auto Workers.

The labor dispute follows the expiration of the workers' contract on April 4, the report said.

The UAW represents more than 2,400 marine drafters at the unit who design submarines for the US Navy.

General Dynamics and the UAW did not immediately respond to requests for comments from MT Newswires.
