Kia Partners with North Carolina-Based Simplifyber to Debut Fybron in Concept EV2's Dashboard and Doors

South Korean automaker Kia (KRX:000270) and North Carolina-based bio-based material technology developer Simplifyber entered a partnership to integrate the latter's cellulose-based Fybron material into the former's Concept EV2's dashboard and door panels.

The material is made from a mix of FSC-certified wood pulp, lyocell, natural rubber, and recycled textiles, offering cost-efficient and eco-friendly components, Kia said Thursday.

Shares of Kia rose more than 1% at market close on Monday, April 14.
