智通财经APP获悉，赛诺菲(SNY.US)研发的下一代实验性哮喘药物阿米特利单抗(amlitelimab)在针对中重度哮喘患者的试验中，未能显著减少病情发作次数，将该药物的前景蒙上阴影，难以承担起弥补赛诺菲重磅药物度普利尤单抗(Dupixent)专利到期所造成损失的重任。
这家法国制药公司表示，阿米特利单抗(amlitelimab)在最高剂量下，未达到中期临床试验中减少病情发作这一主要终点指标;在中低剂量下，也仅显示出 “微弱的效果” 。
周二早盘，赛诺菲股价下跌1.1%。截至周一收盘，其股价在过去12个月内上涨了5% 。
尽管如此，由于在特定的患者亚组中，该药物展现出了在肺功能、哮喘控制方面有临床意义的改善，且能显著减少病情发作，赛诺菲仍计划在后期临床试验中继续对其进行测试。
赛诺菲研发主管胡曼·阿什拉菲亚(Houman Ashrafian)在一份声明中表示：“如果我们看到的初步疗效在3期研究中得到证实，阿米特利单抗有望成为一种有差异化优势的哮喘治疗方案。”
目前，该药物也正在进行治疗特应性皮炎的测试，且已取得积极成果。
杰富瑞(Jefferies)分析师本杰明·杰克逊(Benjamin Jackson)曾将阿米特利单抗形容为 “集众多潜力于一身的产品” 。他在去年的一份报告中指出，这款药物对于弥补赛诺菲已获批的哮喘和皮肤病药物度普利尤单抗专利到期的损失而言，可能至关重要。
