CMB.TECH's Bocimar Unit Signs Deal With Fortescue for Ammonia-Powered Ship

CMB.TECH (CMBT) said Monday its Bocimar unit has signed a deal with Fortescue to charter a new ammonia-powered ship.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 210,000-dead-weight-tonnage Newcastlemax will be powered by a dual fuel engine and is expected to be delivered to Fortescue by the end of 2026, the company said.

The ship is part of a series of large dry bulk carriers currently on order at Qingdao Beihai Shipyard and will transport iron ore, the company said.
