Telefonica's Peruvian Unit Sale Looks Prudent -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

0813 GMT - Telefonica's sale of its Peruvian business is a prudent move, ING analyst Jan Frederik Slijkerman writes in a note. The Spanish telecommunication company agreed to sell its Peruvian unit, which filed for bankruptcy in February, to Integra Tec International on Sunday. This decision will allow the company to distance itself from the bankruptcy proceedings, Slijkerman says. Shares are trading 1.8% higher at 4.07 euros. ( najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
