路透伦敦4月11日 - 五位了解相关计划的消息人士称，汇丰控股（HSBC） HSBA.L 正在准备进军竞争白热化的私募信贷市场。这是一家全球性银行涉足这一蓬勃发展行业的最新举措。
本文首次报导的这一计划，表明汇丰在经历了数月的重组、裁员和数十年来最大规模的投资银行业务缩减后，正在寻找增加收入的途径。
两位消息人士称，汇丰已与私募信贷公司就潜在的合作关系进行了会谈，但未透露这些公司名称。消息人士称，会谈正处于不同阶段，目前还不能确定会达成正式合作。
其中一位了解管理层想法的消息人士说，由于包括汇丰控股集团首席执行官艾桥智(Georges Elhedery)在内的高级管理人员对收入是否会超过成本持怀疑态度，该银行很可能不会像一些竞争对手那样全面进军私募信贷领域。
第三位消息人士称，美国总统特朗普全面加征关税也影响了短期信贷需求，这意味着汇丰将采取更加谨慎的态度。

其中两位消息人士称，由于担心成本问题，汇丰可能不会像其他银行那样单独设立一个部门或团队来处理私募信贷业务。汇丰可能通过其在香港现有的资产管理和人寿保险业务提供私募贷款。
其中一位消息人士称，汇丰于2023年2月从摩根大通挖来的信贷与资本管理主管Jamie Markham正在负责汇丰进军私募信贷的计划。
