--Stargate's purpose is to build data centers in the U.S. for OpenAI, but investing in the U.K. is under consideration if the project proves successful, the FT reports.
--OpenAI and SoftBank didn't comment on the U.K. investment but said in a joint statement that Stargate remains fully committed to investing up to $500 billion over the next four years to build AI infrastructure in the U.S. as announced in January.
