智通财经APP讯，兆科眼科-B(06622)发布公告，环孢素A眼凝胶(公司候选药物之一)用于治疗中重度干眼症的第III期临床试验已于2025年4月3日入组首名患者。
该第III期临床试验为一项关于环孢素A眼凝胶对中重度干眼症患者的疗效及安全性的多中心、随机、双盲及安慰剂对照研究。该试验由厦门大学眼科研究所主任医师刘祖国教授出任牵头研究者，将涉及25个中心，入组合共360名患者。
于2024年7月，公司取得环孢素A眼凝胶新一轮第III期临床试验的新药临床试验申请(新药试验申请)监管批文。此第III期临床试验乃遵照药品审评中心于2023年9月发布的《干眼治疗药物临床试验技术指导原则》所载规定设计。
环孢素A眼凝胶是公司于中国开发以供治疗中重度干眼症的创新环孢素凝胶。有别于Restasis®乳液配方，环孢素A眼凝胶是专利水凝胶，其专利权已于中国以至国际范围获批。此一创新配方提升环孢素A于眼表的药物代谢动力学效能及曝露量，给予环孢素A更多时间抑制干眼症。
事实上，先前的第II期研究结果显示，0.05%环孢素A眼凝胶(每日晚间一次)的疗效及安全特性至少与Restasis®(0.05%环孢素A，每日两次)者类近，有效消除日间给药的需要以及相关的不适和不便。此外，先前由公司进行的第III期研究(COSMO)结果显示，环孢素A眼凝胶最早可于两星期起效。通过每日一次用药及迅速起效，公司的环孢素A眼凝胶有望显著改善患者的用药依从性和生活质量。
