Woodside Energy (WDS) said Wednesday it signed two long-term agreements with Uniper for the sale of up to 2 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas, backing the company's Louisiana LNG project.
No financial information relating to the deal was disclosed.
Woodside will provide 1 Mtpa from Louisiana LNG on a free-on-board basis for up to 13 years starting from the facility's operational launch, the company said.
An additional 1 Mtpa will be supplied from Woodside's global portfolio through its Singapore-based trading unit, delivered into Europe through 2039, Woodside added.
Woodside also said the contracts show the demand from Europe and support progress toward a final investment decision on the 16.5 Mtpa foundation phase of the Louisiana LNG development.
Shares of the company were up 1.7% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
