肖尔算法作为量子计算领域的突破性方法，能高效实现大数质因数分解，理论上可以破解比特币区块链网络依赖的 RSA 和椭圆曲线加密算法。研究显示若量子计算机实现算力飞跃或有机会破解比特币网络中采用单签名的地址。尽管业界已提出“抗量子地址迁移协议”（QRAMP）和“粗粒度玻色子采样技术”（CGBS）等应对方案，但均需通过比特币网络硬分叉实现，底层协议的变更需要社区建立广泛共识。
