SentinelOne (S) Chief Intelligence & Public Policy Officer Chris Krebs is stepping down from his role and leaving the firm, effective immediately, according to an email sent by Krebs to the company's staff on Wednesday.

The decision came after an April 9 Trump administration executive order that revoked any active security clearance held by Krebs and his associates.

Krebs said in his email that he needs "complete focus and energy" as it is a "fight for democracy, for freedom of speech, and for the rule of law."

The April 9 order "calls for a review of Krebs' activities as a government employee, including his leadership of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)," the White House said.

Shares of SentinelOne rose 2.1% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
