智通财经APP获悉，韩国现代汽车集团周一表示，已与浦项控股公司就其在美建设钢铁厂的计划签署了合作谅解备忘录。该集团称，浦项制铁将对现代汽车集团位于路易斯安那州的钢铁厂项目进行股权投资。
上个月，现代钢铁宣布计划到2029年投资58亿美元，在美国路易斯安那州建设综合钢厂，目标同年投产。这家钢铁制造商同时考虑出售该工厂的部分产能。项目计划于2029年投产。
上月，这家韩国汽车制造商在白宫与美国总统特朗普共同宣布了210亿美元对美投资计划。浦项控股在监管文件中披露，将与现代汽车集团共同投资58亿美元，在路易斯安那州建设年产能达270万吨的钢铁厂。
特朗普本月宣布对韩国加征25%关税，该政策随后获得三个月暂缓执行期。
