TotalEnergies said that it intends to cease operating its steam cracker unit in Antwerp by the end of 2027.

The French energy giant on Tuesday said operation of the unit in Belgium was historically dependent on a major client contract that will not be renewed.

There won't be any layoffs and the 253 employees will each be offered either retirement or an internal transfer to another position based at the Antwerp site, the company said.
