Major digital assets were mixed late afternoon Monday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) trading above the $87,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, rose 2.5% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 dropped 2.4%, the S&P 500 declined 2.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 2.5%.
Bitcoin rose 3.2% to $87,382, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume surged 217.1% to $41.28 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, fell 0.7% to $1,575.
XRP (XRP-USD) gained 0.5%, BNB (BNB-USD) was up 1.4%, while Solana (SOL-USD) dipped 0.2%.
Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) rose 2.4%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) increased 0.9%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.403% at 3 p.m. ET Monday, up from 4.325% Thursday, while the five-year yield rose to 3.957% from 3.938%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry surged 2.2% in the past 24 hours to $2.73 trillion, with trading volume rising 94% to $90.94 billion.
