Santos Still Needs to Execute a Lot With Barossa Project -- Market Talk

0053 GMT - All eyes are on Santos's Barossa natural-gas project as it enters the final stage of delivery. Jarden says much needs to be executed correctly for Santos to achieve a goal of first gas from Barossa to the Darwin LNG processing plant by end-3Q. According to analyst Nik Burns, Santos's environment plan covering the operational and commissioning phase of the project needs to be approved. That box tick would allow the floating production, storage and offloading vessel to sail from Singapore, hook up at Barossa and complete final commissioning, Jarden says. "Commissioning of the modified Darwin LNG plant will then take place ahead of first LNG production," Jarden says. "We retain our estimate of first LNG sales in 4Q based on Santos achieving this timeline." (david.winning@wsj.com; @dwinningWSJ)
