TMEIC Corporation Americas, a subsidiary of Japan's TMEIC, has begun construction on a manufacturing facility in Waller County, Texas, to produce uninterruptible power supplies and medium voltage drives, according to a company statement released Tuesday.
The 267,000-square-foot site will support demand from data centers and the oil and gas industry.
It is expected to open in May 2026, with operations starting a month later. Initial hiring is projected at 200 jobs, with the capacity to increase to 500.
The company said the project received backing from the Texas Enterprise Fund and a local tax abatement. It will also include a training center and laboratories, along with solar and battery storage systems.
