Honda Motor's Acura to Recall Almost 153,000 MDX Vehicles in US

Honda Motor's (HMC) American Honda unit said Wednesday that Acura will voluntary recall about 152,800 model-year 2014-2020 MDX vehicles in the US due to a potential water intrusion issue that could cause tailgate lights and/or exterior position lights to become inoperative.

The company said a vehicle with no functional exterior position lighting increases the risk of a crash as it may not be visible to other traffic at night.

Acura hasn't received confirmed reports of crashes or injuries related to the issue, the company said.

The company said Acura dealers will install a fuse harness and, if needed, replace the lid lights and repair the body dust sealer, free of charge for owners of affected vehicles.
