总台记者当地时间4月21日获悉，美国股市当日收盘大幅下跌，道琼斯工业平均指数收跌971.82点，跌幅2.48%，标准普尔500指数收跌2.36%，纳斯达克综合指数收跌2.55%。

当天稍早前，美国总统特朗普在其社交媒体平台“真实社交”上发文，再次敦促美国联邦储备委员会作出降息决定。特朗普在帖文中宣称“美国实际上已不存在通胀，能源、食品及其他大多数商品价格下行趋势如此显著，几乎不可能引发通胀。但如果‘太迟先生’（指美联储主席鲍威尔）不立即降息，美国经济将面临放缓风险。”
