Markel Group (MKL) said Tuesday it is changing the divisional structure for its US and Bermuda operations, as well as naming new leadership appointments, effective immediately.

The two new divisions, previously known as Markel Specialty, will now be divided into US Wholesale and Specialty, responsible for all US specialty insurance business; and Programs and Solutions, responsible for Markel's personal lines, including Bermuda, surety, workers compensation and small commercial general package, programs and alliances, and its Insurtech business, the company said.

Wendy Houser will lead the US Wholesale and Specialty division, while Alex Martin, previously president of Markel Specialty, will lead the Programs and Solutions division, the company said.

The announcement comes after Simon Wilson was named chief executive of Markel Insurance in March.
