0449 GMT - Nomura's acquisition of Macquarie's U.S. and European public asset management business will strengthen its recurring revenue pool and help reduce its earnings volatility, says Tomoya Suzuki at Moody's Ratings. Nomura's efforts to stabilize earnings, =including focusing on revenue diversification in the wholesale segment, increasing earnings contribution from the wealth and investment management segments, and prioritizing cost efficiency, are helping to reduce its earnings volatility, the senior credit officer notes. Nonetheless, stabilizing its international wholesale business will be critical to enhancing its overall credit profile, considering the segment's historically weak profitability and high earnings volatility, Suzuki says in a note.
