全球四大粮商之一的Archer-Daniels-Midland（ADM）周一证实，作为今年早些时候宣布的成本削减和整合计划的一部分，该公司将在今春晚些时候永久关闭其位于美国南卡罗来纳州Kershaw的大豆加工厂。
自今年2月宣布计划在三到五年内削减5亿至7亿美元成本以来，ADM一直在裁员和缩减部分业务。
该公司发言人Dane Lisser表示：“在探索了各种各样的替代方案后，我们已经确定，我们的Kershaw粉碎厂不再符合我们未来的运营需求。”
在去年的会计丑闻导致其股价暴跌后，ADM目前正面临着美国与主要市场之间贸易紧张局势加剧的严峻阻力。
业内消息人士称，Kershaw工厂将是持续多年的扩张后，美国首家关闭的大豆加工厂。
此前，由于生物燃料生产商对植物油的需求不断飙升，美国大豆加工厂经历了多年的全行业扩张。但由于美国生物燃料政策的不确定性和贸易战恶化的可能性，生物燃料行业最近一直在削减产量。
据业内消息人士称，Kershaw工厂是ADM在美国运营的十几家专用大豆加工厂中规模最小的一家，日产(4.41,0.00,0.00%)大豆加工能力为5万蒲式耳。
ADM表示，将帮助Kershaw工厂的员工找到新工作，并为那些选择离开公司的员工提供经济遣散费，但没有透露受影响的员工人数。
根据南卡罗来纳州商务部的数据，Kershaw工厂雇佣了11至50名工人。
