China Maple Leaf Educational Systems (HKG:1317) forecasts it will return to a profit of 110 million yuan in the fiscal first half ending Feb. 28 from a loss of 42.2 million yuan in the year-ago period.
The foreseen return to profit is attributable to lower marketing, administrative, and finance expenses, according to an April 17 filing by the private educational institutes operator with the Hong Kong bourse.
Maple Leaf also recorded a gain of 9 million yuan from other gains and losses compared with a net loss of 55.5 million in the year-ago period.
