Huadian Power International (HKG:1071, SHA:600027) generated nearly 51.4 million megawatt-hours of power in the first quarter of 2025, down 8.5% from a year prior, an April 17 Hong Kong bourse filing said.
The total amount of on-grid electricity sold by the power company in the three months also fell by 8.5% to 48 million megawatt-hours.
The firm attributed the decline in output and sales mainly to a loose supply and demand of electricity in the region, the continuous increase in installed capacity of new energy sources, and a decline in the utilization hours of its coal-fired units.
The average tariff of on-grid electricity sold in the first quarter was roughly 505.71 yuan per megawatt-hour, down 0.71% from the year-ago period.
