Virginia National Bankshares said its board has approved an increase to the company's quarterly dividend, raising it to 36 cents per share from 33 cents.
The new dividend, $1.44 on an annual basis, represents a yield of about 4% based on Thursday's closing share price of $35.39.
The new dividend will be payable on May 30 to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 15.
Virginia National Bankshares is the bank holding company for Virginia National Bank. Glenn Rust, the company's president and chief executive officer, said the dividend increase reflects the board's continuing commitment to provide fair return to shareholders.
