0730 GMT - Prospects for Singapore's gambling sector remain upbeat for 2025, UOB Kay Hian's Jack Goh says in a research report, as the brokerage maintains an overweight rating on the industry. Positive catalysts include the increased momentum in tourist arrivals, a long pipeline of mega entertainment events and a sustained trend of higher spending per capita in Singapore, the analyst says. Genting Singapore is expected to follow in the footsteps of Marina Bay Sands by benefiting from higher tourist arrivals and consumption spending, thanks to 1Q being a seasonally festive period and school holidays, Goh adds. The brokerage has a buy rating and a target price of S$1.12 on Genting Singapore's shares, which is last 0.7% higher at S$0.74. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
