Apple (AAPL) plans to move its robotics unit from under the authority of artificial intelligence chief John Giannandrea to its hardware division, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing unnamed people with knowledge of the matter.
The move will place it under the purview of Senior Vice President John Ternus, the report said.
The company recently removed its Siri voice assistant from Giannandrea's authority, according to the report.
The robotics team, led by Kevin Lynch, plans to release a tabletop robot that uses an artificial limb to move around an iPad-like display, the report said.
Apple did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
