Duke Energy (DUK) teamed up with GE Vernova (GEV) to procure up to 11 7HA natural gas turbines and related equipment to meet growing energy demands from manufacturing, data centers, and population growth, the companies said Thursday.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
The partnership expands on Duke Energy's previous purchase of eight 7HA gas turbines, and GE Vernova will manufacture these turbines at its expanded Greenville, South Carolina facility, part of a $600 million investment in US manufacturing, including nearly $300 million in its Gas Power business, the companies said.
Duke Energy intends to install the turbines at existing sites, utilizing current infrastructure and transmission networks to lower costs and speed up implementation, according to a statement.
