0140 GMT - Hong Kong shares open higher, supported by pharmaceutical and tech stocks. The benchmark Hang Seng Index rises 0.6% to 22046.71 and the Hang Seng Tech Index is up 0.7%. China's April Politburo meeting is in focus for signals on policy direction, though markets seem measured in terms of hopes for significant stimulus from policymakers. Sino Biopharmaceutical advances 4.1% and Wuxi Biologics gains 2.8%. Baidu adds 2.6% and Alibaba Group rises 2.0%. Meanwhile, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery leads losses, down 3.6%, while SMIC drops 1.7%.
