智通财经APP获悉，明尼阿波利斯联储主席尼尔·卡什卡利周四表示，尽早解决与主要伙伴的贸易争端将有助于消除笼罩美国经济的不确定性。
卡什卡利在明尼苏达大学的活动上表示： “如果我们与主要贸易伙伴的贸易争端得到解决，将极大减轻不确定性。“
他指出，美国持续存在的贸易逆差多年来一直受到外国投资的推动，从而导致利率处于低位。
相反，如果美国转向贸易顺差，并因此失去其作为“唯一的资本首选目的地”的地位，借贷成本将上升。在这种情况下，中性利率(即既不刺激也不限制经济增长的利率)最终也会上升。
卡什卡利对当前经济不确定性表示担忧，这种不确定性最终会导致未来裁员人数增加。他表示，“我们还没有看到这种情况，”但他正在密切关注此事。
卡什卡利重申了他对加密货币的负面立场：“除了作为一种投机工具外，它在发达经济中基本上毫无用处。它只是一个玩具。”
他补充说，围绕加密货币建立监管框架“将由国会决定”。
