据英国《金融时报》引述两位消息人士指，汇控(00005.HK) 在日益不满气候抗议人士的干扰以及现场集会相关成本后，已讨论将年度股东大会(AGM)完全改为线上举行。
股东会议历来是重大活动，然而企业越来越多地寻求缩减会议规模，并要求提前提交问题。消息指，汇控已探讨是否可以要求股东完全以虚拟方式参与会议，因为它正朝着“数字优先”的投资者集会方向迈进。
汇控定于下周初在伦敦洲际酒店举行年度股东大会，并辅以Lumi线上平台。知情人士指，转向纯线上出席将有助于该行削减租用大型场地、提供茶点以及聘用保安人员等成本。另一位知情人士表示，此举还将限制抗议者的干扰。
第二位知情人士称，是次可能是汇控最后一年提供现场参会选项，亦指出由于抗议活动，一直存在这种希望转向虚拟会议的期待。
