路透旧金山4月24日 - AlphabetGOOGL.O首席执行官$(CEO)$皮查伊(Sundar Pichai)周四表示，该公司旗下Waymo的自动驾驶出租车未来或许可供人们购买。与此同时，电动汽车制造商特斯拉TSLA.O正加紧准备今年在美国推出机器人出租车。
Waymo拥有700多辆汽车，是美国唯一一家运营无人驾驶机器人出租车并收取车费的公司。Waymo的车辆结合使用摄像头和激光雷达等昂贵的传感器来绘制道路的三维地图，增加冗余度以提高安全性。相比之下，特斯拉只依赖摄像头和人工智能，这使其能够控制成本。
皮查伊在发布财报后的电话会议上没有提供时间表，也未详细说明计划如何销售Waymo车辆，仅表示"未来可以选择个人拥有"。
特斯拉首席执行官马斯克周二在特斯拉发布财报后表示："特斯拉的成本可能只有Waymo的20%，而且是大批量生产的。我认为目前没有人能够与特斯拉竞争。"(完)
