BAE Systems Wins U.S. Army Radio Set Contract of Up to $460 Million

BAE Systems said it won a contract valued at up to $460 million to supply cryptographic radio sets to the U.S. Army.

The U.K. arms maker said the five-year contract for the AN/ARC-231/A multi-mode aviation radio set includes hardware components, repair services as well as engineering and logistic support.

"This airborne radio design enables the U.S. Army to upgrade their rotary-wing fleet with the latest secure waveform that can be tailored for each mission for years to come," said Amber Dolan, director of adaptive communications and sensing at BAE Systems.

The company will produce the radios at its facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with engineering support in Largo, Florida.
