Evolution Energy Minerals appoints new CEO to lead the charge at Chilalo

Graphite project developer Evolution Energy Minerals (ASX:EV1) has confirmed its appointment of a new CEO.

Tasked with spearheading the company’s long-time-coming Chilalo graphite project (based in Tanzania) is one George Donne, billed by the company as a “experienced mining executive.”

A survey of Donne’s LinkedIn shows that he recently left a company called Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) after a brief stint.

“Sadly, after only nine months, my time with Eurasian Resources Group is over. It has been a pleasure to work in the international Corporate Development Team with such a talented young group of individuals – Solomon Kasirye, Lynessa Moodley and Artem Kalyapin,” a five month old post from Donne reads.

“Looking forward to a new chapter, wherever it might be.”

That new chapter, clearly, is EV1.

The former JP Morgan analyst has been recruited to oversee Chilalo “through the financing stage and into production,” where EV1’s long-term goal has always been to supply battery markets with high-quality flake.

(Graphite is, I often say, the ‘forgotten battery metal.’)

“[Donne] served as VP Business Development at Giyani Metals Corp., a Canadian-listed battery raw materials company, where he was instrumental in securing over USD $30 million in equity and project financing and advancing off-take negotiations with international OEM,” Evolution Energy Minerals wrote on Monday.

Donne himself noted exepctations for a busy 2025

“There are some major milestones due in the next year and I am greatly looking forward to driving the Company towards its primary goal of commercial production,” the new CEO said.

“Advancing battery raw materials projects is challenging and the progress that Evolution has made is testament to the quality of Chilalo and determination of the team.”

EV1 last traded at 3.5cps.
