Shares of Acadia Pharmaceuticals rose after the company said it was set to join the S&P SmallCap 600 index.
The biopharmaceutical company's stock jumped 12% to $18.73 in morning trading Tuesday, though shares remain down around 40% for the year.
The San Diego company Tuesday said it will replace bank holding company Independent Bank Group, which is expected to be sold to SouthState Corp., in the small-cap index effective Jan. 3.
